Boise State, fresh off a 33-30 win over Virginia Tech in a stunning comeback on Monday night, remains No. 3 in the just released AP poll. But the Broncos now have eight first-place votes, which is more than No. 2 Ohio State's four, and 1,399 points, just 13 points behind the Buckeyes.

Alabama remains No. 1 in the AP poll and USA Today Coaches' poll, which was also released today. Ohio State is No. 2 in both polls and Boise State is No. 3 in both polls.

TCU, a 30-21 winner over Oregon State on Saturday night, jumped four spots to No. 4 in the AP poll.

Florida fell four spots to No. 8 in the AP poll. The Gators didn't look good, particularly on offense, in a 34-12 win over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday. Oklahoma fell three sports to No. 10 after a lackluster 31-24 win over Utah State on Saturday.

Pittsburgh and North Carolina, both losers in their first games, dropped out of the polls.
