The Pioneers (17-5, 13-3 ECC) won their 39th straight home game and the 14th of their last 15 overall.

David Seagers had 12 points to lead Dowling (7-17, 5-11).

Adelphi 73, Assumption 71: Chris Diasparra had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Adelphi (17-9, 10-9 NE-10), Richard Byrd's free throws gave Adelphi a 71-66 lead with 1:31 left. Mike Baldarelli had 16 points for Assumption.

St. Joseph's (L.I.) 84, Sage 77: Chris Jimenez scored 23 points for St. Joseph's (14-8, 13-4 Skyline). Shahab Syed and Mike Crisci each added 17. Mason Horne scored 17 points for Sage (6-17, 5-14).

Nassau CC 90, Hostos 56: Samantha Campbell had 19 points to lead Nassau (12-5, 10-5 Region XV). Melanie O'Brien added 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

HOCKEYStony Brook 5, Rhode Island 3:Chris Ryan had three goals and an assist to lead No. 20 Stony Brook (15-10-1) to an upset over 11th-ranked Rhode Island (19-9-3) on Friday. Ryan's two third-period goals gave the Seawolves the 5-3 lead.

WRESTLINGNassau CC takes districts. Nassau CC won its eighth straight Mid-Atlantic District Tournament Saturday with 177.5 points in Spartanburg, S.C. Nassau qualified 10 wrestlers for the NJCAA national tournament and had five champions: Ricardo Gomez at 125 pounds, Rob Troy (149), Lance Wade (165), Jules Doliscar (174) and Anthony Lupi (184). The national tournament is Feb. 26-28 in Des Moines, Iowa.
