Riley helps Utah Tech hold off Southern Utah 70-68
ST. GEORGE, Utah — Beon Riley came off the bench to score 16 points and Utah Tech thwarted a late rally to beat Southern Utah 70-68 on Thursday night.
Riley made 7 of 12 shots with a 3-pointer for the Trailblazers (9-14, 5-7 Western Athletic Conference), who led by eight with 39 seconds left to play. Riley added eight rebounds. Noa Gonsalves had 15 points and seven rebounds. Jaylen Searles scored 13 with three steals.
Zion Young had 17 points to lead the Thunderbirds (9-14, 4-8). Dominique Ford finished with 11 points, six rebounds and four steals. Jamari Sibley pitched in with 10 points, six boards and two blocked shots.
