Adelphi's Lauren Nuss hits half-court buzzer-beater as Panthers roll
Let's get this out of the way: Adelphi's women's basketball team won, and won big, in their season opener against LIU-Post on Friday, 87-54.
The Panthers had five players score at least 10 points and Adelphi led by 12 points at the half.
But don't be fooled into thinking a runaway win didn't feature any big plays.
Enter Lauren Nuss, a junior who scored 12 points off the bench, all on three-pointers. One of those shots? A half-court heave that beat the halftime buzzer to give Adelphi a 40-28 lead.
Calli Balfour and Anh-Dao Tran each scored 17 points, Kelly Mannix had 16 points and Sierra Clark added 10 points for Adelphi.
Chelsea Williams scored 26 points for LIU-Post.
