The NCAA announced Monday that the NCAA Tournament will return to New York City twice in the next three seasons - for opening weekend games at Barclays Center in 2016 and for the East Regional at Madison Square Garden in 2017.

The Garden hosted the East Regional this past March, the first regional held in the arena since 1951.

Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark said of his arena hosting the NCAAs, "March Madness comes to Brooklyn! . . . In just two years, Barclays Center has welcomed the most exciting and talked about events in sports and entertainment and the NCAA Tournament will be another celebrated moment for the borough."
