Bria Hartley didn't start, but she did her part as the Connecticut women's team beat Holy Cross, 117-37, in their season opener for their 79th straight win.
The Huskies are young with five freshmen on the team. But Hartley played liked an experienced senior as she scored 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting in 29 minutes. The former North Babylon McDonald's All-American added four assists and three rebounds.
Top-ranked UConn (1-0) will get their first test of the season on Tuesday against No.2 Baylor.
