Nick Corbett’s late steal, bucket seals it for Molloy

Nick Corbett had 16 points, six rebounds and four steals to propel Molloy over Queens, 62-59, in an East Coast Conference men’s game Saturday. Corbett’s steal and layup with two seconds remaining gave the Lions (5-17, 4-8) their final margin. Curtis Jenkins added 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Molloy.
SUNY-Old Westbury 78, Purchase 66: Alan McDonald had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead SUNY-Old Westbury (10-11, 9-7 Skyline). The Panthers, who led by three points at halftime, went on a 15-6 run to take a 71-55 lead with 5:05 remaining. Preston Powell added 17 points for Old Westbury.
Farmingdale State 75, Mount St. Mary 54: Matthew Graham’s 19 points and Ali Mableton’s 14 points, six assists and three steals led Farmingdale State (14-6, 12-3 Skyline).
New Haven 76, Adelphi 73: Jack Laffey had 21 points and four rebounds for Adelphi (8-16, 4-12 Northeast-10) in the loss.
Bridgeport 86, NYIT 81: Jeffrey Hayden scored 24 points and added six rebounds and five assists for NYIT (3-21, 1-11 ECC).
LIU Post 79, Mercy 67: Aary Bibens had 21 points and five rebounds, and made all five of his three-point attempts to lift LIU Post (9-13, 7-5 ECC). Jared Rivers added 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Pioneers.
Maritime 57, USMMA 51: Brendan McGovern’s 18 points led Maritime. James Walsh had 18 points and six rebounds, and Eric Sobocinski added 12 points for USMMA (9-10, 7-8 Skyline).
Mount St. Vincent 72, St. Joseph’s 54: Trey Kinard and Frank Basile scored 10 points apiece for St. Joseph’s (4-16, 4-11 Skyline).
Suffolk CCC 92, Orange CCC 66: Steven Tynes had 12 points, 10 assists and five steals for No. 4 Suffolk CCC (20-2, 16-1 Region XV). Darius Townsend added 11 points, three assists and two steals, and Tyler Hammond scored 14 points for the Sharks.
WOMEN’S GAMES
Stony Brook 66, Hartford 58: Jerell Matthews scored 24 points, including 16 in the second half, to lead Stony Brook (13-10, 5-5 America East). Matthews shot 9-for-14 from the field, including 6-for-8 on three-pointers. The Seawolves used a 23-16 fourth quarter to secure the victory. Shania Johnson added 12 points and 10 assists in the win.
LIU Post 78, Mercy 40: Shannon Doyle and Kylie Garret scored 13 points apiece for LIU Post (16-6, 11-1 ECC). Sasha Patterson added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Pioneers, who held Mercy to 26.3 percent shooting.
Purchase 97, St. Joseph’s 78: Andrea Iavarone had 25 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks for St. Joseph’s (5-15, 4-8 Skyline). Jennifer Gubell added 18 points for the Golden Eagles. Amber Jones carried Purchase with 42 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and eight steals.
Mount St. Vincent 71, USMMA 61: Kaleigh D’Arcy had 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists for USMMA (14-6, 10-4 Skyline).
Bridgeport 74, NYIT 64: Maia Hood led NYIT (13-9, 7-5 ECC) with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
New Haven 58, Adelphi 44: Simone Hobdy had 20 points and eight rebounds for Adelphi (11-13, 7-9 NE-10).
Queens 75, Molloy 60: Beth Bonin’s 18 points and five assists lifted Queens. Kathryn Gibson had 16 points, and Gabriella Aspuru and Ihnacinse Grady had 14 points each for Molloy (8-14, 3-10 ECC).
