Cosgrove resigns as Adelphi head coach

Adelphi men’s basketball coach James Cosgrove resigned to become the head coach at Division III Trinity College, which is near his hometown in West Hartford, Conn.

Cosgrove was 166-77 in eight seasons at Adelphi, including 22-11 this season as the Panthers advanced to the Northeast-10 championship.

Cosgrove’s teams at Adelphi earned four NCAA bids. Adelphi athletic director Robert Hartwell said a search to find Cosgrove's replacement will begin shortly.
