Connie Simmons had 19 points and Danielle Wilson 12 points and 13 rebounds as Dowling overcame a halftime deficit for a 57-45 win over Stonehill Saturday in an NCAA Division II second-round game at Bentley College.

Trailing 30-22 with 19:46 left, Dowling went on a 14-4 run and took a 36-34 lead at the 10:16 mark on a jumper by Julia Koppl.

The Golden Lions (27-3) will play the winner of Bentley-Holy Family in an East Regional final at 7 p.m. Monday.

 

MEN'S LACROSSESt. John's 20, Rutgers 13: Junior Kieran McArdle had five goals and seven assists for a program-record 12 points for St. John's (4-2, 1-1 Big East). McArdle's point total bested the previous record of 10 set by Mike Bolger in 1987.

Dowling 14, Tampa 13: Tom Cleary had five goals, including the winner two minutes into the third overtime to lift Dowling (4-1) in non-conference.

NYIT 14, St. Michael's 10: Luke Miller had five goals and three assists for NYIT (5-1) in non-conference.

Adelphi 9, St. Anselm 8: Ikerson Hopper had three goals, including the winner with 1:56 left in the game to lift No. 4 Adelphi (3-0, 1-0) in Northeast-10 play.

USMMA 14, Catholic 8: John Atkinson had a goal and five assists as USMMA (3-2, 1-0) picked up its first Landmark Conference win since 2011.

WOMEN'S LACROSSEAdelphi 20, Merrimack 7: Devan Crimi had three goals and career highs in assists (six) and points (nine) to lift No. 4 Adelphi (5-0, 1-0) in the Northeast-10.

SUNY Oneonta 15, Farmingdale State 14: Nicole Marzocca and Carly Schneider each had three goals and an assist for Farmingdale State (3-1) in an overtime non-conference loss.

 

BASEBALL

NYIT 6, Fairleigh Dickinson 2: Michael Fermin had two RBIs and Ali Rodriguez went 2-for-3 for NYIT (1-8) in non-conference.

 

SOFTBALL

Dowling wins two. Stephanie Tarango had two homers and four RBIs as Dowling (9-3) beat Le Moyne, 12-8, in the second game of a non-conference doubleheader. Erika Nogan struck out six in an eight-inning four-hitter as Dowling took the first game, 1-0.
