Ernie Kent out at Oregon
Oregon coach Ernie Kent was fired Tuesday, Ducks athletic director Mike Bellotti announced at a press conference.
Kent, an Oregon alum, was fired after 13 years on the job and is the school's winningest coach. He compiled a 235-173 record. But the team was 16-16 this season and 7-11 in the PAC-10.
The mediorce record, coupled with declining attendance, prompted the move, according to Bellotti. Oregon fell to California, 90-74, in the PAC-10 quarterfinal.
Former Portland Trailblazers and Seton Hall coach P.J. Carlesimo is rumored to be at the top of the list to replace Kent.
