Philadelphia University coach Herb Magee won his 903rd game Tuesday night, one more than former Indiana coach Bob Knight, and became the winningest NCAA men's basketball coach.

Philadelphia University defeated Goldey-Beacom College, 76-65.

Magee is in his 43rd year as coach at the school. Northern State coach Don Meyer, who retired on Monday, has 922 wins between stints in the NCAA and NAIA.

Tennessee women's coach Pat Summitt is the only NCAA coach with over 1,000 wins. Harry Statham, coach of NAIA school McKendree University, got his 1,000th win earlier this season.

In addition to over four-dozen media, Villanova coach Jay Wright was also in attendance, according to the Associated Press.
