The Hofstra men’s basketball team entered its final regular-season game on Saturday afternoon with a chance to clinch its first Colonial Athletic Association regular-season title since it tied for the top spot in the 2015-16 season.

Behind a 28-point performance by senior guard Justin Wright-Foreman, the Pride did just that, defeating host Delaware, 92-70.

Eli Pemberton added 20 points, Desure Buie had 16 and Jacquil Taylor had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds for Hofstra (25-6, 15-3).

Hofstra now will turn its attention to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament, which will be held in North Charleston, South Carolina. The Pride will enter as the top seed.

Wright-Foreman has 2,210 career points and trails Steve Nisenson (2,222 from 1962-65) by 12 points for third place in school history.

Hofstra shot 60 percent from the floor and 47 percent from behind the arc.

The Pride took a 44-31 advantage into halftime, led by Wright-Foreman’s 17 points. The score was tied at 7, but Hofstra went on an 11-1 run to open a 10-point lead.

Delaware (16-15, 8-10) struggled to keep Hofstra off the glass. The Pride outrebounded the Blue Hens 35-22 and grabbed 10 offensive rebounds, which converted to 13 second-chance points.

The Pride forced 10 turnovers that resulted in 15 points.

Hofstra is 58-32 against Delaware and has won 10 of the last 11 meetings dating to the 2014-15 season.
