Unranked Michigan and Michigan State took major steps toward NCAA Tournament bids with upset victories in the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis on Friday.

Kalin Lucas scored a career-high 30 points as MSU (19-13) routed No. 9 Purdue, 74-56.
North Carolina 61, Miami 59: Tyler Zeller took a feed from Kendall Marshall and laid it in at the horn as No. 6 North Carolina (25-6) came back from 19 points down in the second half in the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, N.C.
Dayton 68, Xavier 67: Luke Fabrizius hit two free throws with 5.8 seconds to play as Dayton (21-12) held off an 18-point rally by No. 18 Xavier (24-7) in the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Atlantic City.
Bucknell 72, Lafayette 57: Mike Muscala had 18 points as Bucknell (25-8) cruised in the Patriot League title game in Lewisburg, Pa.-- AP
