UNLV (11-2), which beat then-No. 1 North Carolina earlier this season, used its switching defense and nine blocks to limit the Illini (10-1) to 25.4-percent shooting.

Florida 84, Texas A&M 64: Kenny Boynton hit six three-pointers and had 22 points as No. 13 Florida (8-2) built an early 16-point lead, then coasted past No. 22 Texas A&M (8-2) in Sunrise, Fla.

Mississippi State 80, Detroit 75: In Detroit, Rodney Hood made the go-ahead basket with 17.7 seconds to play and Arnett Moultrie blocked a shot seconds later for the No. 17 Bulldogs (11-1).

Indiana State 61, Vanderbilt 55: Steve McWhorter hit two free throws with 3:32 left to put Indiana State ahead for good and the Sycamores (8-2) upset No. 25 Vanderbilt (6-4) in Nashville.

Ohio State 74, South Carolina 66: Deshaun Thomas had a career-high 30 points as coach Thad Matta collected his 200th win in nine seasons with the host No. 2 Buckeyes (10-1). Sophomore big man Jared Sullinger left the game with a bone bruise in his left foot.

Baylor 86, BYU 83: Perry Jones III scored a career-high 28 points, including a late tip-in for the three-point lead, and Brady Heslip hit six three-pointers for No. 6 Baylor (9-0) in Provo, Utah.

Kentucky 87, Tenn.-Chattanooga 62: Doron Lamb scored 24 points and freshman Anthony Davis had 14 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks in Lexington as No. 3 Kentucky (9-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season.

N. Carolina 97, Appalachian St. 82: Tyler Zeller had 31 points and 10 rebounds as host No. 5 UNC (9-2) cruised after building a 29-point lead.

Ohio State 77, California 75: Samantha Prahalis had 18 points and six assists and No. 12 Ohio State (10-0) held off host Cal to give coach Jim Foster his 750th career victory.

Stanford 85, Princeton 66: Nnemkadi Ogwumike had 22 points and 12 rebounds and little sister Chiney had 21 points and 10-for-11 shooting for host No. 4 Stanford (7-1).

Tennessee 85, UCLA 64: Meighan Simmons scored 18 points and Glory Johnson 17 as No. 6 Tennessee (7-2) made 18 of its first 20 shots in Los Angeles.-- AP
