NCAA First Round: Day 2 breakdown

Welcome to Day 2 of the first round hoop people. I'll be taking you through most of the day again. My colleague Greg Logan will provide updates from the Buffalo site today. Sit back and enjoy.

Here's a quick rundown of two games that are set to tip off in a half hour or so.

West Region first round game

At Milwaukee: No.11 Minnesota (21-13) vs. No.6 Xavier (24-8) – It took a crazy run for Minnesota, which won seven of its final 10 games, to make the tournament. Minnesota doesn’t have a lot of individual firepower, but is very efficient on offense and plays excellent defense. The Golden Gophers shoot nearly 48 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. As for Xavier, its backcourt of Jordan Crawford and Terrell Holloway is underrated and among the best in the country. The Musketeers started a little slow, but went on a tear the second half of the season. The Golden Gophers will play well early, but how much gas do they have left in the tank after such a crazy late-season run?
