CBS and Turner announced the television schedule yesterday for the 2011 NCAA Tournament, one designed to spread out games and allow fans to take better advantage of the fact every contest will be shown in its entirety on CBS, TBS, TNT or truTV.

In the past, games were clustered in regionalized "windows" on CBS. Now that CBS and Turner are covering the tournament jointly under the terms of a 14-year, $10.8-billion deal, games can be more staggered, for example, including the addition of a Sunday night game on the opening weekend. In the past, Sunday nights have been off limits because of CBS' commitment to "60 Minutes."

The schedule calls for CBS to carry 26 games, including the Final Four, TBS 16, truTV 13 and TNT 12.
