It wasn't a day to be remembered as an upstart Syracuse squad took it to Ohio State for a 75-66 win at the Carrier Dome on Saturday.
Former Commack All American Sammy Prahalis had 17 points, eight assists, but turned it over six times.
It was another New Yorker, Murry Bergtraum grad Erica Morrow, who helped Syracuse (8-0) down the No.6 Buckeyes (7-1). Morrow led all scorers with 27 points and four assists.
Despite Saturday's setback, all eyes will be on Ohio State as it faces No.1 Connecticut (9-0) on December 19 at Madison Square Garden. The Buckeyes will have a tune-up against USC Upstate on December 14.
Connecticut has won 87 straight games and needs one more victory to tie the UCLA Bruins' all-time record of 88 straight wins.
