Marshall Moses had 18 points and eight rebounds, and third-seeded host Oklahoma State had its highest-scoring first half of the season in a 71-54 victory over sixth-seeded Harvard Tuesday night in the first round of the NIT.

Oklahoma State (20-13) scored 41 points in the first half and won an NIT game for the first time since 1997. The Cowboys had lost three straight from 2006 to 2008.

Reger Dowell scored 15 and Matt Pilgrim 12 for the Cowboys.

Kyle Casey led Harvard (23-7) with 13 points.

Fairfield 62, Colorado State 60: Yorel Hawkins scored 17 points, including two free throws with 18 seconds left, to give the Stags (25-7), who forced 20 turnovers, a 61-57 lead in Fort Collins, Colo.

Alabama 68, Coastal Carolina 44: Tony Mitchell, Charvez Davis and Trevor Releford all scored 12 points to lead top-seeded host Alabama (22-11).

College of Charleston 94, Dayton 84: Andrew Goudelock had a career-high 39 points, including eight three-pointers, as Charleston (25-10) beat defending champion Dayton (22-14).

Cleveland State 63, Vermont 60: Norris Cole scored 27 points, including the go-ahead basket with 1:23 left for host Cleveland State (27-8). -- AP
