Jamelle Hagins hit two free throws with 20 seconds left as Delaware beat Hofstra, 67-66, in a CAA men's basketball game Wednesday night.

Mike Moore had 24 points and Nathaniel Lester added 15 points and 11 rebounds as visiting Hofstra (6-9, 0-3) nearly overcame a 15-point deficit. The Pride had a chance to force overtime, but Shemiye McLendon missed the second of two free throws with two seconds left.

Hagins had 21 points for Delaware (6-7, 2-1).

Temple 78, Duke 73:Khalif Wyatt scored 22 points and Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson had 17 to help Temple (10-3) beat No. 5 Duke in Philadelphia. Temple had lost nine straight times to Duke (12-2) and hadn't beat the Blue Devils since Jan. 25, 1996.

Syracuse 87, Providence 73: Brandon Triche scored 16 points, hitting three straight three-pointers early in the second half, and No. 1 Syracuse (16-0, 3-0) pulled away. Providence is 11-5, 0-3.

Georgetown 73, Marquette 70: Jason Clark scored 26 points, and Hollis Thompson's tiebreaking three-pointer with less than 30 seconds left capped a comeback from a 17-point deficit for host No. 9 Georgetown (13-1, 3-0 Big East). No. 20 Marquette is 12-3, 1-1.

Drexel 60, Towson 27: Towson (0-15. 0-3) tied the NCAA record for consecutive losses by a Division I team at 34 with Sacramento State. Towson's point total was the lowest ever in a CAA game. Drexel is (9-5, 1-2).

WOMEN'S GAMES

St. John's 57, Providence 41:Shenneika Smith had 18 points and seven rebounds and Eugeneia McPherson chipped in 12 points for host St. John's (9-6, 1-1) in a Big East game. Providence is 8-7, 1-1.

Connecticut 79, West Virginia 60:Bria Hartley scored 18 points and No. 2 Connecticut extended its NCAA-record home winning streak to 93.
