Providence dismisses forward Jamine Peterson

Providence coach Keno Davis dismissed forward Jamine "Greedy" Peterson from the team, it was announced today.

Peterson, who led Providence in scoring (19.2) and rebounding (10.2), was kicked off the team for violating an unspecified team rule.

Peterson, a 6-6 sophomore, starred for Boys & Girls high school in Brooklyn.

Peterson's dismissal was the latest blow for  Providence program that has experienced a lot of turmoil. Teammates James Still and Johnnie Lacy were arrested and charged with assault last month.

The investigation is still ongoing.
