It was a win the St. John's women needed. Nadirah McKenith had a career-high 26 points, seven rebounds, four assists and seven steals in the Red Storm's 66-45 win over LaSalle at Carnesecca Arena on Wednesday.

St. John's began the season ranked 25th in the preseason Associated Press poll. It's worth noting the Red Storm is playing without senior forward Da'Shena Stevens (knee). But that wasn't enough to keep St. John's in the poll after dropping its season opener to St. Bonaventure.

Shenneika Smith added 10 points, five rebonds and two blocks, while Eugeneia McPherson and Keylantra Langley added eight points each for St. John's (1-1).
