New Seton Hall basketball coach Kevin Willard today announced that 6-11 Aaron Geramipoor of Manchester, England has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Pirates in 2010-11. Geramipoor most recently played for Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain's Canary Islands along with 6-9 forward Patrik Auda, who previously signed with SHU in May.

Last season, Geramipoor averaged 20 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots for Canarias. As a member of England's under-18 national team, he is averaging more than eight points and eight rebounds per game. He is England's starting center for the under-18 European Championship, which begins July 22 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

“Adding another talent from the Canarias Basketball Academy, one of the premier schools in Europe, will bolster our frontcourt lineup for next year and beyond,” Willard said in a statement. “Aaron is incredibly long and has great tools for a man his size. We look forward to his growth in our system and believe he can be a real asset.”
