St. John's hoops gets 17 national TV games

The St. John's men's basketball team will have 17 national television appearances and some marquee matchups for the upcoming 2011-12 season.
The school released its full schedule Wednesday.
St. John's is scheduled to play non-conference games at Kentucky (Dec. 1), at Duke (Jan. 28) and at Madison Square Garden against UCLA (Feb. 18).
St. John's also will play in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer at Madison Square Garden Nov. 17-18.
The Red Storm plays Arizona Nov. 17 and will face either Texas A & M or Mississippi State the next day.
St. John's also is scheduled to play in the Madison Square Garden Holiday Classic Dec. 17. However, it will be a one-day event this season with St. John's playing Fordham at 2:30 p.m. Stony Brook faces Rutgers in the noon game.
The Red Storm's Big East schedule features home games against Louisville Jan. 3, Georgetown Jan. 15, Villanova Jan. 21, West Virginia Jan. 25, Syracuse Feb. 4 and Notre Dame Feb. 25.
Those games will be played at Madison Square Garden.
The Red Storm plays at defending national champion Connecticut Dec. 31.
St. John's begins its season with an exhibition game Nov. 1 at Carnesecca Arena against C.W. Post.
