The ECC will be well represented at the NCAA D-II Women’s tournament. Dowling, the ECC Tournament champion, along with LIU Post and the District of Columbia, which received at-large bids, will represent the conference in the tournament.

Dowling earned the ECC automatic bid after knocking off St. Thomas Aquinas, 59-54, in the tournament championship game on Sunday. Julia Koppl led the Golden Lions with 18 points, including four three-pointers. Koppl also had four blocked shots. Sarah Schicher added 13 points and Seja Gamble chipped in 10 points.

It’s Dowling’s first appearance in the tournament since 2003. The third-seeded Golden Lions (22-6) will take on No. 6 Holy Family in a quarterfinal on Friday at noon.

LIU Post (21-9) will take on Southern Connecticut in a quarterfinal on Friday at 2:30 p.m., while the District of Columbia (21-6) will face top-seeded Bentley at 6.
