Ryan Nassib threw a touchdown pass, Ross Krautman kicked four field goals and Syracuse scored nine points off turnovers on the way to shocking host No. 20 West Virginia, 19-14, yesterday.
Syracuse (5-2, 2-1 Big East) snapped an eight-game losing streak to West Virginia (5-2, 1-1). West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith threw three first-half interceptions and was sacked five times.
Rutgers hits wall
Jon Baldwin caught a 45-yard touchdown pass and set up two other scores with difficult catches, as Pittsburgh (4-3, 2-0 Big East) beat emotionally drained Rutgers, 41-21. The Scarlet Knights (4-3, 1-1) wore "Believe'' on their helmets to honor teammate Eric LeGrand, a defensive lineman, who was paralyzed from the neck down making a tackle against Army last week.
