BCS No. 1? Boise?
The first BCS standings of the season are to be released today, and according to the formula going into this week, Boise State was No. 1. The Broncos (7-0) took care of business with a 48-0 victory at San Jose State, as star quarterback Kellen Moore played only the first half.

Auburn wins shootout
Cam Newton ran for 188 yards and three touchdowns, threw for 140 and a TD, leading No. 7 Auburn to a 65-43 victory over No. 12 Arkansas yesterday.
The teams set a Southeastern Conference record for most points in a non-overtime game.
Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett went out in the first half after taking a blow to the head.
Gators mired
Vick Ballard ran for 98 yards, Chris Relf 82 and a touchdown as Mississippi State upset No. 22 Florida, 10-7, in the Swamp. The Gators (4-3, 2-3) lost consecutive home games for the first time since 2003. Florida's Chas Henry missed a 42-yard field goal with 4 seconds remaining.
