UConn gets BCS bowl

Connecticut let a 16-6 lead slip away, but Dave Teggart hit four field goals, including a career-best 52-yarder with 17 seconds to play, as the Huskies (8-4, 5-2) claimed the Big East's BCS berth last night with a 19-16 win over host South Florida. Lawrence Wilson had an interception return for a touchdown.

UConn is expected to go to the Fiesta Bowl.

Sooners, Hokies are in

Travis Lewis had an interception in the end zone and recovered two fumbles as No. 9 Oklahoma rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat No. 13 Nebraska, 23-20, in the Big 12 championship in Arlington, Texas. The Sooners are expected to go to the Fiesta Bowl.

In Charlotte, N.C., Tyrod Taylor threw three TD touchdown passes and scrambled for another as No. 15 Virginia Tech (11-2) won the ACC title with a 44-33 victory over No. 21 Florida State. The Hokies are headed to the Orange Bowl.

Boise bounces back

Kellen Moore threw three TD passes, ran for another and host No. 11 Boise State (11-1, 7-1) bounced back from last week's loss to Nevada with a 50-14 victory over Utah State.- AP
