Holmes paces Nassau CC to easy victory

Ben Holmes completed 20 of 38 passes for 329 yards and four touchdowns to lead Nassau Community College to a 48-13 win over Louisburg (N.C.) in the Northeast Football Conference.

Mike Richardson had nine catches for 145 yards, including a 39-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Deon Wright had nine tackles, three for a loss, and one sack to lead the Nassau defense, which held Louisburg to minus-12 rushing yards in the game. Nassau CC (8-0) is ranked ninth in the country in the NJCAA. Louisburg is 5-4.

WPI 24, USMMA 23: Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Brian Murtagh recovered Zachary Boucher's fumble on USMMA's two-point conversion attempt in overtime. WPI forced overtime with a 25-yard field goal by Blaine Bursey with eight seconds left. Matthew McDaniels ran 17 times for 100 yards and a touchdown for USMMA (0-4). Josh Woodburn's 28-yard touchdown reception from McDaniels gave the Mariners a 17-14 lead with 4:24 left in the fourth.
