With 2 minutes, 41 seconds to play, Steven Laurino scored on a 3-yard keeper to give LIU Post the lead, and defensive lineman Kenny Scotland batted away a fourth-down pass to end the game, as the Pioneers (7-3, 7-2) scored 14 unanswered fourth-quarter points to defeat Bentley, 35-31, in the Northeast-10 yesterday.

The victory secures the No. 2 seed in the conference championship next week.

Down 31-21 with 10 minutes to go, Laurino hit tight end Sean Binckes up the seam for a 16-yard touchdown.

Laurino was 34-for-48 for 363 yards and a touchdown. He ran for 74 yards and two touchdowns.

Bentley is 4-6, 3-6.

Union 59, USMMA 32: Dante Cioffi was 21-for-33 for 389 yards and six touchdowns for Union (2-7, 2-5 Liberty League).

Union led 35-7 at halftime behind Darnel Thomas' 1-yard TD run and scoring passes of 53, 20 and 10 from Cioffi. Thomas had 25 carries for 142 yards.

Matthew McDaniels led USMMA (2-7, 0-6) with 19 carries for 162 yards.
