LIU Post can't slow East Stroudsburg's record performance
East Stroudsburg had a record-breaking performance in a 45-37 victory over LIU Post Saturday in PSAC East football.
East Stroudsburg set a PSAC record with 828 yards of total offense in handing Post (3-5) its fifth loss in six games. Matt Soltes threw for 535 yards and five TDs and ran for 131 yards to lead the Warriors (4-4). His 666 total yards broke the PSAC record of 651 set by Post's Eric Anderwkavich in 2010.
Steven Laurino threw for 284 yards and three TDs for the Pioneers. His 26-yard TD pass to Pat Fitzgerald tied the score at 7 with 9:29 left in the first, but the Warriors went on a 28-0 run. Soltes' 29-yard TD pass to Jordan Hallman made it 35-7 with 1:08 left in the second.
The Pioneers piled up 498 yards of offense. Grayson Laurino had six catches for 54 yards and a TD, ran for 54 yards and threw a 10-yard TD pass to Chris McGrane with 1:32 left in the fourth quarter.
Thomas Beverly ran for 81 yards and a touchdown, Joe Botti had seven catches for 71 yards and a TD, and Casey Biasi had 12 tackles and an interception for Post.
