Steven Laurino completed 15 of 26 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns, but LIU Post couldn't overcome a 209-yard rushing performance by Matt Pedone in a 37-27 loss to Assumption in Northeast-10 football Saturday.

Mike Williams ran for 58 yards on eight carries and Joe Botti caught 10 passes for 137 yards and two scores for Post (4-6, 3-6).

Bobby Jordan threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns to lead Assumption (6-4, 6-3). Pedone scored on a 55-yard touchdown with 3:15 remaining to give Assumption a 37-21 lead over the Pioneers.

Wide receiver Evan Butters caught four passes for 75 yards and Mike Bates led Assumption's defense with 11 tackles.

Union 27, USMMA 14: Matthew McDaniels carried 27 times for 177 yards and two touchdowns and Colin Hinchey had 65 yards on 12 carries for USMMA (4-3, 1-3) in Liberty Conference action. Nick Becker completed 21 of 38 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns to lead Union (3-6, 3-3). Becker threw a 60-yard pass to Andrew Baker with 6:16 remaining in the first half to give Union a 17-0 lead. Darnel Thomas had 99 yards rushing on 26 carries for Union. Jake LaRovera had 11 tackles and Casey Muse and Jake Lebowitz had 10 tackles each.
