LIU Post leads late, but falls in overtime to Edinboro

Cody Harris threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Marcus Johnson in overtime to lift host Edinboro over LIU Post, 31-24, Saturday in PSAC football.
The Pioneers had led 24-17 after Steve Laurino's 28-yard touchdown to Kamron Palmer with 31 seconds left, but Edinboro rallied.
After a sack by Chris DiIorio and intentional grounding call put Edinboro in a third-and-16 hole at its own 47, Harris hit Devin Ghafoor in traffic for a 41-yard pass. With the Fighting Scots in range, Harris then threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Johnson with three seconds left that forced overtime.
Post had a chance in overtime, but turned the ball over on downs at the Edinboro 16. Jeff Mack was stuffed for no gain, tackled by Ghafoor on a fourth-and-1 run.
Harris completed 27 of 34 passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns to lead Edinboro (2-2). Ghafoor had four catches for 123 yards and Johnson had seven receptions for 74 yards and two scores.
Laurino was 21-for-38 with 232 yards, two touchdowns, and ran for 86 yards and another score for Post (2-2). Mack ran for 54 yards and Pat Fitzgerald had a 2-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter.
Laurino's 9-yard touchdown run capped a 13-play drive that gave Post a 14-10 lead with 3:15 left in the third quarter. Harris' 1-yard touchdown plunge tied the score at 17 for Edinboro with 5:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Laurino then led a 10-play, 70-yard drive to retake the lead with 31 seconds left, but the Pioneers couldn't hold it.
Post totaled 401 yards, but Edinboro amassed 458.
Defensive back Antonio Powell-Field made 12 tackles, and Rob Bright, Julian Santiago, Dan Belfiore, Joseph Thompson, David Sumter each had a sack for the Pioneers.
After starting the season 2-0, Post has dropped its last two. They fell to Bloomsburg, 42-27, last week. Post will visit Shippensburg at 1 p.m. Saturday.
