Clemson escapes
Chandler Catanzaro rebounded from missing a minute earlier to kick a 43-yard field goal as time expired yesterday to lift No. 9 Clemeson (9-1, 6-1) to a 31-28 victory over Wake Forest, the Tigers' second ACC Atlantic Division title in three seasons.
Purdue trips Buckeyes
Robert Marve's 1-yard touchdown on a quarterback sneak in overtime gave host Purdue a 26-23 win over Ohio State (6-4, 3-3 Big Ten). Trailing 20-14 late in the game, Ohio State's Braxton Miller scrambled on fourth-and-3 from the Purdue 13, and found Jordan Hall behind the secondary for a touchdown to tie the game, but Purdue's Bruce Gaston blocked Drew Basil's extra-point try. Purdue is 5-5, 3-3.
Georgia romps
Aaron Murray threw four touchdown passes as host No. 15 Georgia, with a dominant first half, romped past No. 20 Auburn, 45-7, to move within one win of clinching the SEC East. The Bulldogs (8-2, 6-1 SEC) won their eighth in a row. The Tigers are 6-4, 4-3.
S.C. turns back Gators
Quarterback Connor Shaw ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns and freshman Brandon Wilds ran for 120 yards to lead host No. 13 South Carolina (8-2, 6-2 SEC) to a 17-12 win over Florida (5-5, 3-5).
