Massapequa’s James Hall had two goals and two assists and Brian Harinski (Massapequa) and Kyle Steinbach (Garden City) each added two goals to lift top-seeded Adelphi past No. 2 Le Moyne, 9-2, in men's lacrosse in the Northeast-10 Conference championship game Saturday at Motamed Field in Garden City.

Joseph Diggle (West Islip) added two assists and Michael Caiazzo (Locust Valley), Michael Paccione (Commack) and Joseph Duchnowski (Port Washington) each scored a goal. Dylan Renner (Roslyn Heights) made seven saves and Edward Perlstein (Hewlett) won 10 of 15 faceoffs for Adelphi (15-1).

Adelphi advances to the NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse championship. A time and date of its game is to be determined.

Maritime 22, Farmingdale State 13: Garden City’s John Killcommons had six goals and one assist to lead top-seeded Maritime past No. 3 Farmingdale State in the Skyline Conference championship game at Reinhart Field in Throggs Neck. Maritime outscored Farmingdale, 9-2 in the first quarter.

Rob Varello (Smithtown) scored four goals, Johnny McMahon (West Babylon) added two goals and two assists and Thomas Stock (Selden) score three goals for the Farmingdale (12-4, 5-2 Skyline). Parker Reilly (West Isilip) totaled four goals and three assists for Maritime (11-7).

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

Le Moyne 9, Adelphi 8: Adrianna Nojaim scored with 3:11 left in overtime to lift No.3 Le Moyne over No. 2 Adelphi in the Northeast-10 semifinals at Bentley University in Massachusetts. Sydney Meagher scored a man-up goal with seven seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime for Le Moyne (15-4). Adelphi took an 8-7 lead on Kristina Kallansrude’s unassisted goal with 24 seconds left in regulation.

Adelphi (16-2) trailed 6-4 in the third quarter, but tied the score at 6 on Tamia Lawson’s man-up goal with 6:49 left in the fourth quarter. Kallansrude (Jericho) and Christina McCabe (Oceanside) both scored two goals and Emma Lemanski (Wantagh) made six saves for Adelphi. Both of Adelphi’s losses this season came in overtime.   

Merchant Marine Academy 15, Farmingdale State 2: Jessie Wohner had seven goals and an assist in the Skyline Conference championship game for top-seeded USMMA in its win over No. 2 Farmingdale State. Jaqui Sheedy added four goals and an assist. Rockville Centre’s Julia Coughlin had a goal and an assist and Lynbrook’s Hope Germanakos made four saves for the Merchant Marine Academy (13-2). Farmingdale State finished its season with a 9-8 record.

BASEBALL

Saint Rose 4, Adelphi 0: Josh Myers went 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs to lead Saint Rose over Adelphi in game one of a Northeast-10 doubleheader. Gavin Graff pitched three perfect innings in relief for Adelphi (28-11-2, 17-6-1 NE10).

Alec Maag went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and hit a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the ninth to lead Adelphi to an 8-6 win in game two. Johnny Catuosco went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and run scored. Tim Feliz and Anthony Cipri each drove in two runs and Tommy O'Sullivan pitched three shutout innings in relief with four strikeouts to earn the win. Saint Rose is 20-28 overall and 12-12 in the conference.

SOFTBALL

UMass Lowell 10, Stony Brook 2: Dawn Bodrug broke the Stony Brook single-season strikeout record by notching her 285th strikeout of the year for Stony Brook (31-16, 10-6 AE) in an America East matchup. Stephanie Poetzsch’s set the previous record in 2002 with 282 strikeouts.

Corinne Badger and Brooke Dye each had a hit and an RBI for Stony Brook. Maria Moccio had two hits and drove in four runs for UMASS Lowell (26-18, 10-7 AE).
