Daniel Desimone scores winner in overtime for Farmingdale State
Daniel Desimone scored the winner with 0.9 seconds left in overtime as Farmingdale State beat Stockton, 9-8, Saturday in Skyline Conference men's lacrosse.
Philip Schaefer's third goal gave the Rams an 8-7 lead in the third, but Stockton tied it with 11:15 left in the fourth. Tom Rotanz had a goal and two assists and Donovan Devaney had a goal and eight ground balls for the Rams (12-5, 3-3).
NYIT 9, LIU Post 8: Shawn Murphy (four goals) scored with 2:26 left in the third overtime for NYIT (10-3, 7-1 ECC). Chris Caiazza tied it at 8 with 1:33 left in the fourth Post (6-5, 5-2).
Nassau CC 12, Army Prep 11: Anthony Gomes and Nick Tobin each scored three goals for Nassau CC (12-1) in Region XV.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Adelphi 18, St. Michael's 1:Devan Crimi had five goals, three assists and four caused turnovers to lead Adelphi (16-0, 11-0 NE-10). Kate Beier added four goals and Jen Graham had five ground balls.
BASEBALL
LIU Post, Dowling split.Tom Bammann allowed three hits and struck out eight in a complete game in Dowling's 9-1 win over LIU Post in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Andrew Abreu was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Post won the second game, 3-2, behind Mike Eckerle, who allowed two runs in six innings. Angel Vidal (1-for-2) scored the winning run on an error in the fifth.
SOFTBALL
Hofstra sweeps Delaware. Morgan Lashley allowed two hits in five innings and Kim Smith had four RBIs in a 15-0 win over Delaware in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Caryn Bailey hit a three-run homer. Hofstra won the second game, 5-1, behind Smith's two RBIs.
