DiDonna's goal wins it for NYIT
Matthew DiDonna scored unassisted in the 87th minute to lift NYIT over Queens, 2-1, Saturday in ECC men's soccer. Danny Stoker had tied the score for Queens in the 74th minute on a penalty kick. Vinny Cacavale also scored for NYIT (9-2-2, 3-1-1). Liam Waddy made two saves for the win. Demetrios Touros and Nelson Restrepo each made three saves for Queens (6-6-3, 3-1-1).
C.W. Post 1, Mercy 0:Andreas Olson scored off a pass from Jonathon Watkin in the fifth minute for Post (12-0- 1, 4-0-1 ECC). Marco Jorgensen made six saves for the shutout.
Boston University 1, Stony Brook 0: Dominique Badji scored with 1:15 remaining in overtime for Boston University (7-6-0, 3-1-0 AE). Stefan Manz had two saves for Stony Brook (6-5-3, 2-1-1).
WOMEN'S SOCCER
C.W. Post 2, Mercy 0: Jeanine Ambrogi and Elsa Klarin each scored for Post (7-4, 3-2 ECC).
Farmingdale State 11, Mount St. Vincent 1:Katrina Cerverizzo and Kelly Geheran each scored two goals for Farmingdale State (12-2-2, 6-0 Skyline). Mount St. Vincent is 3-9, 1-5.
Queens 2, NYIT 1: Brittany Silipo scored both goals for Queens (7-4-1, 3-1-1 ECC). Ally Halbig's goal in the 23rd minute had tied it for NYIT (6-7, 1-4), but Silipo answered a minute later.
Adelphi 2, St. Michael's 0:Sarah Cote and Emily Masiello each scored, and Sam Whitney made three saves for Adelphi (7-5, 6-5 NE-10). Saint Michael's is 5-8-1, 4-7-1.
Molloy 4, St. Thomas Aquinas 1:Nicole Valentine had two goals and two assists to lead Molloy (8-6, 4-2 ECC). Allison Sloper added two goals and Nicole DellaPorta had five saves. St. Thomas Aquinas is 1-9-1, 0-5.
FIELD HOCKEY
Kutztown (Penn.) 3, C.W. Post 2:Erin Reynolds scored the winner at 63:45 for Kutztown. Carlee Dragon and Amanda Miller scored for Post (3-5) in PSAC East.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Adelphi 3, Merrimack 0:Erika Loomer had 22 assists and nine digs to lead Adelphi (13-5, 6-1) in a 25-15, 26-24, 25-18 win in NE-10. Kaitlyn DeStefano and Haley Blunt each added eight kills. Allison Cote had 27 assists for Merrimack (3-16, 0-7).
