Doughty out as AD at NYIT
NYIT athletic director Clyde Doughty Jr. is no longer employed at the college, spokeswoman Elaine Landoli said. No reason was given for the departure of Doughty, who had held the position since 1988.
"Like all organizations, NYIT does not comment on employment matters," Landoli said in an e-mail.
No successor has been announced.
Reached by phone Monday, Doughty said he would withhold comment, per his attorney, until signing an agreement with the school.
Doughty had been associated with NYIT since 1976, when he received a basketball scholarship out of Brooklyn Technical High School. His teams twice made the Division II NCAA Tournament. Doughty was an academic advisor following graduation and succeeded William "Buck" Lai as athletic director.
