New Fordham basketball coach Tom Pecora will bring his entire staff from Hofstra, Pecora said Wednesday.

"The whole posse," Pecora said. "It makes the whole process a lot easier, we hit the ground running. We should be in good shape. When you have that kind of stability in your program it obviously helps."

Pecora, who spent nine years as the head coach at Hofstra, was given a five-year deal at Fordham for $650,000 a year. His top assistant, Van Macon, interviewed with new St. John's coach Steve Lavin but decided to remain with Pecora. Macon, who held the title of associate head coach, spent nine years at Hofstra. He was interviewed at Hofstra, but the administration hired an experienced head coach and signed Tim Welsh to a five-year deal worth $3 million.

Pecora also will bring along David Duke, Michael Kelly and John Corso. All the assistants are expected to receive raises.

St. John's continues to search for additional assistants. While Drexel's Tony Chiles has been added, Oregon assistant Mike Dunlap might wait until that school decides on its next head coach before considering an offer from St. John's. San Francisco Warriors assistant Rico Hines, who played for Lavin at UCLA, also is being considered.
