Heimerle lifts Adelphi in field hockey

Jeanette Heimerle had two goals and two assists Saturday as Adelphi breezed past visiting Assumption, 6-0, in Northeast-10 field hockey. Crystal Gay, Julianne Gerbino, Cassie Cabral and Emilee Rahner also scored for Adelphi (3-1, 1-1 NE-10).

MEN'S SOCCER

Dominican (N.Y) 2, Molloy 1: Paul Ferrandino scored for Molloy (0-4). Dominican is 1-1-1.

NYIT 1, Le Moyne 0: Vinny Caccavale scored in the 25th minute to lift NYIT (2-0-1) in non-league. Liam Waddy had three saves for his second shutout.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Dowling 3, Felician College 0:Alexis Parotta scored all three goals for Dowling (3-1-0) in non-conference. NYIT 4, St. Thomas Aquinas 0:Jenna D'Alessandro had two goals to lead NYIT (3-1) in non-conference.

FOOTBALL

Nassau CC 24, Sacred Heart 13 (Conn.) JV: Francis Drummond completed 14 of 18 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown, Mark Thomas had eight receptions for 110 yards and Marc Mauro had a 58-yard interception return for Nassau CC (1-0) in non-conference.
