Despite Mike Moore's 27 points, the Hofstra men's basketball team lost to Boston University, 68-61, Sunday and fell to 1-2 in the three-day TicketCity Legends Classic subregional round in Kingston, R.I.

David Imes had nine points and Moore added 11 rebounds for Hofstra (3-4), which was 1-3 in the tournament, beating Cleveland State and losing to BU, Rhode Island and Oregon State.

Moore, who scored 25 points against Rhode Island on Friday and five against Cleveland State on Saturday, was named to the Legends Classic all-subregional team. He was 5-for-9 from three-point range and scored 17 points in the first half against BU.

Darryl Partin scored 25 points, D.J. Irving added 15 and Patrick Hazel had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Terriers (2-4).

At one point, Partin scored 18 straight BU points, including a trio of three-pointers in the first eight minutes of the second half.

The Pride led 41-33 early in the second half and went ahead 56-53 on Moore's jumper with 6:11 to play before BU went on a 10-1 run. Four straight free throws by Moore and Imes moved Hofstra within 63-61 with 1:18 left before BU scored the final five points.

Hofstra junior guard Stevie Mejia went down with a hamstring injury in the first half and did not return to action.
