Hofstra to face Penn St. in Women's NIT

The Hofstra women's basketball team will play at Penn State Thursday in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT).

Hofstra (19-13) will meet Penn State (17-13) for the first time. The winner will face either St. Joseph's or Virginia Commonwealth in the second round.

Hofstra made its first postseason appearance in 2005-06 when the Pride qualified for the WNIT. Hofstra beat Stony Brook in the first game before being eliminated by Villanova. In 2006-2007, Hofstra beat Seton Hall and South Carolina.
