LaFlare leads Molloy's lacrosse victory

Rebecca LaFlare scored five goals and Kristie Sosnowski four for Molloy (14-2, 5-1 ECC) in a 23-4 win over Mercy in a women's lacrosse game yesterday. Jamie McPartland scored three times for Mercy, which ended its first season 8-6, 3-4.

BASEBALL

NYIT 8, Army 7:Brian Smith homered twice to drive in three runs and Jerry Smith's solo homer to leftfield with two outs in the fourth inning gave NYIT (20-18-2) an 8-1 lead in non-conference.

MEN'S LACROSSE

Goucher 6, USMMA 2:Robert Atkinson and Adam Jerlow scored for No. 4 USMMA (7-8) in a Landmark Conference semifinal. No. 1 Goucher advances to take on Catholic on Saturday in Towson, Md.

SOFTBALL

Stony Brook sweeps:Colleen Matthes struck out nine in a four-hit shutout as the Seawolves defeated Seton Hall, 6-2 and 2-0. Shannon O'Shea was 3-for-5 with two doubles and knocked in two runs for the Seawolves (27-18-1). Seton Hall is 19-30.
