Late free throws drop USMMA men
Spenser Spencer's two free throws with five seconds remaining lifted Susquehanna over USMMA, 76-75, Saturday in Landmark Conference men's basketball.
Harley Sellinger blocked Zach Karczewski's last-second layup attempt as Susquehanna held on. Richard Roach's layup with 45 seconds left had given USMMA a 75-74 lead.
Rob Estep had 26 points and five rebounds and Spencer added 18 points for Susquehanna (8-10, 4-3). Tom Izzo had 13 points and seven rebounds and Roach had 12 points for the Mariners (8-9, 3-4).
C.W. Post 75, Molloy 53: Stefan Bonneau scored 22 points to lead C.W. Post (12-6, 9-2 ECC). Jonathan Kohler had 13 points and Aaron Hall had five points and 11 rebounds for Post. John Petrucelli had 16 points and four steals for Molloy (5-10, 5-6).
Orange CC 70, Nassau CC 59:Amemou Jean-Baptiste scored 27 points to lead Orange CC (17-3) in Region XV. Chris Mauldin had 14 points and Malcolm Moore had 13 for Nassau CC (9-10).
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
C.W. Post 49, Molloy 41: Shatima Greer had 16 points and 11 rebounds for C.W. Post (8-8, 6-5 ECC). Janea Aiken added 13 points. Ashley Addison scored 12 points and Delmara Reece had eight points and 13 rebounds for Molloy (4-14, 4-7).
Nassau CC 76, Hostos CC 62: Nicole Brown had 15 points, five rebounds and two assists for Nassau CC (4-3, 4-3 Region XV). Trisha Courtney added 12 points and four assists.
Farmingdale State 74, Sage 26:Jalicia Connell scored 14 points to lead the Rams (11-5, 8-2 Skyline). Shemique Hooks had 11 points and Juanita Chappel had 10 rebounds for Farmingdale State. Sage is 5-10, 4-6.
