Nicole Farber hit four home runs and Heather Buckshaw silenced the opposition as Farmingdale State swept a doubleheader of Mount St. Vincent Saturday in Skyline softball.
Farber went 5-for-5 with two homers and eight RBIs and Buckshaw threw a five-inning no-hitter in leading the Rams to an 18-0 win in Game 1.
The Rams (24-4, 12-2) won Game 2, 25-0, and Farber was 3-for-5 with two homers and eight RBIs. Amanda Maass went 5-for-5 with two homers and five RBIs, and Buckshaw pitched a one-hitter.
BASEBALL
Adelphi 4, Saint Anselm 2: Robert Nixon struck out five in a complete game and Omar Velazquez went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases to lead Adelphi (21-10-1, 10-5 Northeast 10).
Hofstra 5, George Mason 2: Rob Kumbatovic allowed a run and struck out four in seven innings to lead Hofstra (8-20, 7-10 CAA). Joe Perez was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
MEN'S LACROSSE
Hofstra 8, Fairfield 7: Ian Braddish scored two goals, the second of which gave No. 8 Hofstra (11-1) an 8-4 lead with 14:11 remaining in the fourth quarter. Adrian Sorichetti also scored twice and Andrew Gvozden made 10 saves. Fairfield is 6-6.
Farmingdale State 11, SUNY-Maritime 6:Jimmy Owsinski scored four goals and Brian Nerney made 11 saves for Farmingdale State (7-4, 4-0 Skyline). SUNY-Maritime is 6-8, 4-2.
Drew 14, USMMA 6: Zach Gray had two goals and two assists for USMMA (4-10, 0-3).
Nassau CC 12, Howard CC (MD) 4: Zach Goldbach scored three goals and Tom Laviano added two goals and an assist for Nassau CC (9-2) Tim Bradley made seven saves to hold Howard CC scoreless in the three quarters he played.
NYIT 17, Chestnut Hill 11: Cory Triola scored five goals and Chris Lubin added two goals and five assists to lead No. 8 NYIT (7-3, 5-2 ECC).
