Michigan State: Mark Dantonio suffers heart attack

According to this news release from Michigan State, head coach Mark Dantonio was hospitalized early Sunday morning after suffering a heart attack.

Hours earlier, Dantonio called for a fake field goal in overtime to beat Notre Dame in a stunning 34-31 win.

Dantonio had surgery at Sparrow Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. His return to the sidelines is unknown.

Offensive coordinator Don Treadwell will take over the head coaching duties.
