Pac-10 announces plans for divisions
The Pac-10 will be renamed the Pac-12 and split into two divisions when Colorado and Utah join the conference for the 2011 season.
Pac-10 comissioner Larry Scott made the announcement on Thursday during a press conference in San Francisco.
Pac-12 North
California
Oregon
Oregon State
Stanford
Washington
Washington State
Pac-12 South
Arizona
Arizona State
Colorado
UCLA
Utah
USC
Here are the key points:
-- The four California schools have been split up. But those schools will still play each other. There will be nine conference games -- five within a school's division and four against the other division. So USC and UCLA are guaranteed to play Cal and Stanford.
-- There will be equal revenue sharing among the 12 schools.
-- The conference title game will be played at the home field of the school with the best conference record. That is at least the case for next season.
