Paquette sparks Hofstra's baseball victory

Ethan Paquette's RBI double sparked a four-run sixth inning as Hofstra held off Stony Brook, 12-10, in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday.

Scott A'Hara added a two-out, two-run double later in the inning as Hofstra (12-20) took an 11-7 lead. Justin Echevarria had a pinch-hit, two-run single for Stony Brook (14-17), which got within 11-10. Hofstra tacked on a run in the eighth.

SOFTBALL

Hofstra 10, St. John's 2:Sara Michalowski was 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBIs for Hofstra (32-8).

MEN'S LACROSSE

Adelphi 13, American International College 7:Michael Rossi had four goals and three assists for Adelphi (6-4, 4-3 NE-10).Suffolk CC-Brentwood 18, Morris CC (N.J.) 8:Rich Carlson had three goals and four assists for Suffolk CC (10-2).

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

C.W. Post 23, Mercy College 4:Ashley Olen scored six goals and Staci Passafiume added one goal and eight assists for C.W. Post (12-1, 5-0 ECC).
