Perfect English leads Suffolk CC-Brentwood

Andrew English threw a perfect game as Suffolk CC-Brentwood blanked Manhattan CC, 10-0, yesterday.
The sophomore transfer from Dowling College is the first person to pitch a perfect game since Suffolk CC-Brentwood became the Grant Campus according to eighth-year coach Bob Molinaro.
English struck out 11 batters, including the side to end the game. Molinaro added that third baseman Chris Rutigliano made a backhanded play in the fourth inning to keep English's perfect game alive. Suffolk CC (14-4 Region XV) won the other game, 17-1, as Anthony Orsano went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, a triple and 3 RBIs.
VCU 15, Hofstra 6:Mike Walraven went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scored for Hofstra (10-20, 3-6 CAA).
Stony Brook 22, UMBC 1: Stephen Marino was 4-for-6 with 6 RBIs, and Rob Dyer went 4-for-7 with five RBIs in the win. Stony Brook (14-16, 4-2 American East) completed a three-game sweep of UMBC.
