COLUMBUS, Ohio - Seventh-ranked Ohio State's star junior point guard, Samantha Prahalis of Commack, was suspended for the first three games of the 2010-11 season because of a secondary NCAA rules violation.

According to the NCAA, "A secondary violation is a violation that is isolated or inadvertent in nature, provides or is intended to provide only a minimal recruiting, competitive or other advantage and does not include any significant recruiting inducement or extra benefit.''

Prahalis will be permitted to practice with the team during the suspension but not travel to road games at Temple Friday night and LSU on Wednesday.

Buckeyes coach Jim Foster, while not being specific about the violation, told The Columbus Dispatch that "this is something from last year.'' - AP
