LIU Post men's lacrosse teammates celebrate after their 12-11 win over New York Institute of Technology in the ECC Championship at LIU Post on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Credit: James Escher

Frank Ranfone had three goals and one assist to lead LIU Post (1-0) over Molloy (0-1) in its ECC men’s lacrosse opener, 11-4, Saturday. The Pioneers went on a three-goal run in a 3:38 span toward the end of the third quarter. In the fourth, the Pioneers scored four unanswered goals to secure the victory. Chris Trasacco added two goals and three assists. Goalkeeper Matthew Liantonio had 11 saves.

Adelphi 21, American International 2: Quintin McKenna had four goals and one assist for Adelphi in an NE-10 opener. Ian Kirby added three goals and two assists. Nicolas Racabulto and Michael Osmundsen also scored three goals apiece.

WOMEN’S GAMES

Kean 20, SUNY-Old Westbury 4: Taylor Guarneri scored two goals off three shots in SUNY-Old Westbury’s (0-2) loss to Kean. Natasha Treuman and Sara Bey added a goal apiece.

Le Moyne 10, LIU Post 6: Connor Bird scored two goals off three shots in the LIU Post (1-1) loss to Le Moyne.

Roberts Wesleyan 17, Molloy 11: Jessica Markowitz scored five goals in Molloy’s (1-2) loss to Roberts Wesleyan. Cooper Sesselman had three goals and two assists. Brianna Wilson had two goals and two assists.
